Are You Deciding To Decide?

Betsy called me this morning in tears about how the economy was affecting her family her business and her life. Her sense of wellbeing was off balance and she was finding herself out of source.

Money fights with her husband continue to escalate and her young children were in the cross fire. One of her most profitable accounts began to trickle down and she was left with no choice but to let go of some premium employees.

What do I do she asked. Her question was so powerful that it was then that Betsy’s process to solve her situation began. Right there and then Betsy decided to decide The best and smartest thing Betsy did was to ask that question and brainstorm with a trusted confidant. Inasmuch as Betsy saw herself existing within a lonely space with no one to turn to thinking she had to do it all herself and bearing the weight of “her” world on her shoulders with very little support from her loved ones she soon realized she needed to decide to decide!

The minute Betsy made the decision to reach out ask for help from a trusted confidant and business strategist she became “resourceful” and that translates into emotional fitness and that was the beginning of Betsy’s road to recovery from all what she thought she’d lost versus what she actually have and all of what she could have as she moves forward into her future regardless of the economy.

Do you ever wonder where the strength to make decisions comes from? Some of our decisions are on automatic pilot while others must be contemplated and seriously thought through before a decision is made and then there are those called “final decisions”. If they sound so terminal it’s because they are.

Sometimes we struggle to make the right decisions and sometimes we just can’t make any decisions at all. We are paralyzed by the overwhelming evidence that we just can’t decide at this particular time as to what’s on behalf of our best interest and we look to others for answers as sometimes we should.

But what if all of what you need in order to make “the” right decision is in front of your mirror?

What if all you need to do is “decide to decide” and get resourceful about getting your needs met and your prolems solved?

Do you see the power you have over making a “conscious” decision in deciding to decide?

Every decision must be clear in our minds as to what we want to accomplish. The steps to get there should compliment our vision.

Always have an aspiration to be more do more and have more.

Are you deciding to decide? When you do it is the most powerful “tool” you will ever have in your life: The power to decide.

If Betsy’s story resonates with you remember you’re not alone. Answers and solutions are at your fingertips. Don’t leave how you run your businessand live your life up to the economy nor anyone else. Get resourceful. You are in charge! Don’t ever forget that!
