Today President Barack Obama promised to “speed federal money into hundreds of public works projects this summer vowing that 600000 jobs will be created or saved” reference yahoo article “Obama promises summer speedup of economic effort”. However he said he wasn’t happy with the progress of the economic effort made so far and I’m sure we all agree. Although the economy lost fewer jobs in May than anticipated it doesn’t help those that have already lost their jobs. It doesn’t help those that cannot afford to pay their bills and/or mortgages. And it certainly doesn’t help those that are trying to find any type of work while wondering how to get through the summer with the kids out of school and no leftover money to pay for daycare camps or family vacations etc. It’s a tough road ahead there’s no doubt. Many Americans are getting more and more discouraged as a “recent Associated PressGfK poll found that 41 percent of those surveyed disapproved of Obama’s handling of the deficit his highest disapproval rating on any subject polled.”And who can blame us? The original promise that Obama’s stimulus plan would put people back to work has not lived up toits intention. And the administration’s predictions that unemployment would rise no higher than 8 percent were shattered a while ago. While the economy may begin growing again during the second half of this year the hardships caused by the recession will persist for some time.
The White House will spend money this summer with the Roadmap to Recovery plan a summer initiative designed to accelerate the Administrations recovery efforts with ten major projects that will create jobs. So that the public can see first hand where the money is going and how it is helping the economy people are invited and encouraged to visit the Roadmap to Recovery web site where you can share stories and videos of ongoing projects. While I cannot create projects of this type or scale I can offer business opportunities to you that are designed to get you on the road to recovery by starting your own business in the debt industry.
