Chengdu Enterprises Learn Experiences in the Shoemaking Kingdom
On the morning of July 21 Chen Xiao general manager of Chengdu Fangyu Shoemaking Industrial Co. Ltd. embarked on his tour to Italy with a case of promotional materials. Along with him there are other general managers from over 30 clothing and shoemaking enterprises in Chengdu. They will take part in the “SichuanEU Trade Week 2008” which will be held from July 21 and will have a “zero contact” with the international brands.
Learn the experiences from shoemaking kingdom
“Italy is the kingdom of shoemaking and the cradle of women’s shoes. They take the lead in the world in terms of the shoemaking techniques”. The 21yearold Chen Xiao is the youngest among this delegation who comes from a shoemaking family. He is full of expectation for the trip. “We should learn the details from them as they have an increditably high requirement for techniques”. Chen Xiao said he noticed that Italian shoes excel in the sticking process not only nice but fast. In China however adhesive failure usually happens. “I will pick out all these details this time”.
Wu Deqing the manager of Chengdu Yibailan Shoes Co. Ltd. considers that it is the right time to hold such a trade mission. And when an Italy trade union went to investigate in Chengdu in this March they reached intent with Wu Deqing which would give an order for Wu’s midand highgrade ladies’ shoes. Wu Deqing said “Before our cooperation we should study in Italy for some time and it is beneficial to amend our disadvantages and adapt to international practices.”
“Twoway exchanges” to accelerate the process of cooperation
This is not the first exchange between local enterprises in Chengdu and EU countries such as Italy. In every October International Sourcing Festival will be held in the Ladies’ Shoe Center of China attracting many visitors from Italian footwear associations and enterprises. On the last International Sourcing Festival Giuseppe Baiardo Chairman of Consorzio Maestri Calzaturieri del Brenta approached all the exhibitors one by one and expressed his deep impressions and interest in cooperation.
